Beach Boulevard / Highway 90
The waterfront strip — casinos, hotels, restaurants and the Memorial Day cruise route.
Biloxi is the Mississippi Gulf Coast's casino-and-beach town that transforms every Memorial Day weekend into one of the largest Black gatherings on the Gulf — Black Beach Weekend. Outside of festival weeks it's a quieter mix of Gulf seafood, white-sand beaches, and casino resorts.
Biloxi's tourist corridor along Beach Boulevard (Highway 90) and the casino strip is generally safe and well-policed. Memorial Day weekend brings heavy traffic and a heavier-than-usual police presence — drive carefully and stay aware. Mississippi is the deep South; standard situational awareness in less populated areas after dark is wise.
Insider note: Biloxi is the unofficial capital of Black Beach Weekend (Memorial Day). The Beau Rivage, Hard Rock, IP, and Golden Nugget casino-hotels are the home base for most Black travelers. Outside of festival weekend, Biloxi is a quiet beach town — go for the casinos, Gulf seafood, and history (Beauvoir, the Biloxi Lighthouse). Mississippi's racial history is heavy; lean into Black-owned spots and travel in groups for the best experience.
