Safety for Black Travelers

Lagos is a megacity of contrasts. The Island (Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikoyi) is very safe, modern, and full of incredible restaurants and nightlife. The Mainland requires more caution — avoid displaying wealth and use vetted drivers rather than street taxis. Uber and Bolt are reliable and strongly recommended. Traffic (called 'go-slow') is infamous — build extra time into every plan. Nigerians are incredibly warm to the diaspora.
