Nine Mile — Marley's birthplace and mausoleum — is an hour inland and is the most powerful pilgrimage in all of Black travel. Back in town, the Dunn's River climb is genuinely fun and iconic. But the real Ocho Rios is the jerk pits on the roadside past the resort zone, the local reggae sessions at small bars on the beach, and the Rastafarian villages where people will braid your hair and explain African unity over fresh coconut.
